Consejo Asesor Global

The advisory board will provide advice and support in the creation and development of academic programmes, as well as identifying and maintaining standards of best practice. In addition, board members will serve as ambassadors to the programmes; providing a conduit for the exchange of information and ideas between the ISAM curriculum and those most able to add value.

FLAVIO ALZUETA

President of the Advisory Board

President of the Advisory Board and Former Vice President& Chief Marketing Officer of GLOBALG.A.P., the international standard for Good Agricultural Practices. Flavio holds an MBA from IE Business School and a range of postgraduate qualifications from CEIBS (Marketing), Wharton (Leadership), and Harvard Business School (Agribusiness).

DR. SANTIAGO GARCÍA

Dr. Santiago Garcia is Vice President of the Advisory Board, he holds a PhD from Leeds University Business School and is currently Dean of the Global School at Rennes School of Business. Dr. Garcia serves as an international accreditation assessor and is a regular speaker at conferences and on panels addressing international higher education issues, where he provides unique expertise and insight on quality, internationalisation of operations, global partnerships, and digitalisation.

JANE KALEHA

Founder and CEO of Rehani Fresh Ltd,a company that produces culinary herbs for Export to Europe and UK. While studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nairobi she decided to halt her studies to embrace her dream of farming. She believes that, farming was and is a very lucrative venture especially if done sustainably.

She founded Rehani Fresh in 2017 together with her husband. The farm is 3 hectares in both greenhouses and open field with 20 employees, the main products are Basil, Mint, Chives, Tarragon, Thyme, Rosemary and Oregano. The farm is located in the savanna grasslands of Machakos County, Eastern Kenya, an hour drive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. As a young farmer she like to do her bit to inspire and educate the youth about farming, and encourage them that farming is not only for the older generation.

The company also opens door to students seeking internship and pays them for the labour they offer! This proves to be very motivating Today, The family business sees itself as a modern nursery and ready-made company that our customers can rely on. She is also Member and Vice chairlady of Herb Growers Association of Kenya.

HITENDRA PATEL

Thought leader, keynote speaker, author, and innovator. CEO of IXL Center – a Cambridge-based global innovation consulting firm. Hitendra has helped over 1,200 global companies and their executive teams drive transformation initiatives to build innovation capabilities and achieve 10-fold increases in growth. Previously a senior leader of Monitor Group and Arthur D Little’s Innovation Practice, Hitendra began his career as a technologist for Motorola. He is the owner of six patents and the founder of several venture-backed companies.

SARAH CRUIKSHANK

Leader of various teams focused on the impact of the development and search for safer food for consumers, through the Global Food Safety Advisory Program of the International Finance Corporation. She has more than 20 years of experience in international development within a wide variety of global work environments, with proven skills ranging from financial and technical to communication and teamwork.

DR. FAISAL AL-KADI

Dr. Faisal is an entrepreneur who is committed to turning exciting ideas into successful businesses. Founder and Managing director of Faiour Enterprises, a platform for new ventures.Advisory Board Member at ISCEA -International Supply Chain Education and professor. MBA and Doctorate from IE Business School. His areas of expertise are Entrepreneurship, Culture, Family Business, National Economic Policies, Strategy.

MARY SHELMAN

Thought Leader in Global Food and Agribusiness. As well as an MBA from Harvard Business School, Member of the Crop Improvement Advisory Council (AgroTech), and former President of the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA).

SANJAY SETHI

Mr. Sanjay Sethi has been a Sustainability and Impact investment leader for three decades, developing and managing integrated supply chains, food and agribusiness projects, large commercial farms and a range of agricultural infrastructure. As Director of Sustainability at Phoenix Group –a $2.5 billion multinational – he is leading the transformation of the agrifood commodities business towards a more sustainable future.

Mr. Sethi was awarded; The Africa Food Prize in 2013, a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018 for his work on Food Security, and; the Chief Sustainability Officer of the Year Award in 2018 and 2019. He is member of the Steering Committee for the Global Agribusiness Alliance (a World Business Council for Sustainable Development initiative) and has been re-elected to the Board of Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP), an initiative of the UNEP. Mr. Sethi graduated from Yale School of Business (USA), the Institute of Rural Management (India), and CCS Haryana Agricultural University (India).

DANNY O'BRIEN

Danny founded Idea 2 Scale in 2018 with the guiding principle that while talent exists everywhere, opportunity does not. To date, their virtual accelerator programs have helped hundreds of founders become investor and market ready. In 2019, he launched the Field Academy, a dedicated program for Food & AgTech startups. Danny has a background in innovation consulting having worked in Dublin, London and New York with regular travel to emerging markets. He holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Practice from the UCD Smurfit Graduate Business School.

DANNY GOH

Founder and CEO of Nexus Frontier Tech, an AI research firm that integrates artificial intelligence into organizational processes by using NLP to transform inactive information into structured data; facilitating faster, better, and more agile functioning. Danny is also co-author of Amazon’s sales success, The AI Republic: Building the Nexus Between Humans and Intelligent Automation. He currently serves as an entrepreneurial expert at the University of Oxford’s Said Business School, as a visiting professor at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School, and is a designated member of the Center for Politics and Competitiveness at the École des Ponts Business School.

Alexander Wɔfa Kyerematen

Alexander Wɔfa Kyerematen leads Global Fund for Children’s grantmaking, capacity strengthening, integrated programming, and stakeholder engagement across Africa. This is his latest position in almost fifteen years of experience in strategic philanthropy, grant management, financial services and consulting.

Previously, he managed the disbursement of $120 million to support public-private partnership projects. Most recently, he designed and implemented strategic multi-year, multi-sector philanthropic investments across private, public and civic society in Africa.

His journey from the private sector into philanthropy has positioned him to offer unparalleled expertise and value to all stakeholder seeking to create impact through their work or giving.

He obtained an economics degree from College of Wooster and earned a master’s degree in business administration from Hult International Business School.

KAI PETERS

Kai Peters is Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Business Law as well as international development at Coventry University and a member of the Coventry University Group Leadership Team.

Previously, he was Dean/Director of Ashridge, the business school located in Berkhamsted, near London from 2003 to 2015. Following the 2015 strategic alliance of Ashridge with Hult International Business School, Peters was appointed Chief Academic Officer of the combined institution.

Prior to joining Ashridge, Peters was Dean, and previously director of MBA programs, of the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) of Erasmus University in the Netherlands from 1993 to 2003.

In addition to academic activities, he chairs GAIA, an e-Health company in Hamburg, Germany and is on the advisory board of NewsConsole, an artificial intelligence / big data company in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Peters has written or co-written 10+ books and chapters, and 50+ academic and practitioner articles on leadership and management education including Steward Leadership: A Maturational Perspective in 2013 and Rethinking Business Schools in 2018.

He holds degrees from York University, Toronto and University of Quebec in Chicoutimi; (Canada) and Erasmus University (Netherlands).
